Vaccines

Regarding vaccines, my main stance is to support parental choice.  Although I used to be able to give the vaccines required by Virginia schools in my office, my patients started delaying vaccines starting in 2020, and many of them chose to stop them altogether, so I no longer keep any vaccines and cannot give them in my office.  My patients need to use local urgent care centers or public health clinics to get their vaccines.  I am comfortable with a variety of vaccine schedules, including delayed vaccines, limited vaccines, or no vaccines, if that is what parents have chosen for their child.  For people who are choosing to vaccinate, I prefer a more spread out schedule than what is recommended by the CDC and I prefer they delay vaccines if a person is ill or recovering from an illness.  Bob Sears M.D. has a lot of balanced information on his website about vaccine choices.
